Re: The Bandersnatchers - Live
i should get that cookie monester and tom hiddleston video up here, teaching u about "delayed gratification" (it's on the sherlock thread)
Re: The Bandersnatchers - Live
Yeah, I saw that.
I wouldn't really presume to nag you though. If you don't get around to something, I assume there's a good reason for it. Or not. Either way, I understand.
So I was mostly joking.
But, yeah, maybe I'm a bit impatient too.

Its nothing to the patience required when one is waiting on Eldo to write his next instalment!

Eldo has turned into a bit of a JD Salinger character, hasn't he.
Though writing something seminal and then living on the plaudits and royalties, there might be something to be said for that.

Well... erm ... Thank you.
I was mostly not nagging Nora about her picture by saying I was not nagging her, but I would love to see some more Bandersnatchers too.
Something else to be incredibly patient about.
Though I feel the illusion of my patience might be wearing thinner the more I talk about it..

Just heard the Bandersnatcher songs, Blue! Quite good, but I think they need some screaming girls spliced in.

You're too kind. But really, thank you, because you saying that means a lot to me, even if its meant in jest.
Anyway, to be serious for a moment, it's been so long since I started the Needlehole stories and I'm in a different emotional place than I was back then. Whenever I go back and try to work on those stories again it feels off, like I'm trying to force myself to become an older version of me. I've spent a lot of time over the past nine months trying to think of new stories and new takes on both original ideas and Forumshire fanfic stuff, but despite many, many false starts, I haven't found anything I'm really happy with. And I have a reputation to keep up here, so I don't want to post something that even I think is crap.

And I have a reputation to keep up here- Eldo
Your reputation is for producing excellent quality fun forum fiction, then not doing any more for AGES- so yes, you are keeping up your rep just fine!!

Unfortunately the fun part is one of the most difficult to keep up. It's easier to write dark and moody stuff period, but my mental state doesn't help matters.

No its bloody not! Get on with it!

Re: The Bandersnatchers - Live
I might not have said it altogether seriously, Eldo. But there's a hard core of thruth there, certainly.
I think what you did so well with your Needlehole stories was the creation of the characters and the setting. And that's where the genius of a lot of these kind of stories lie. It's like that in Sherlock, to use Norcs favourite analogy, or Doctor Who, to use Pettys.
There's a reason the same characters work so effeortlessly in Norc and Amariës hands.
I don't think anyone minds that you don't feel like writing just those stories at the moment.
Well, except Petty that is.

I'm glad you think so, Halfwise. Though only the first one is really Bandersnatchers related. And it's a bit throwaway and silly, but it was fun to write.
I'll have to see if I can find some to sample. Though not a bad idea.
And I might have an idea for a second one using some of your lyrics, Amarië. But I'll have to think about it.

Re: The Bandersnatchers - Live
So, as everyone else have been so good at updating/finishing stories of late, I thought I should get around to posting the second Bandersnatchers tune that I talked about aaages ago and I got around to recording over summer.
It was kind of based one this exchange, though I did kind of goof on the lyrics.
I'm not sure how well it works, but I like the idea.
Anyway, here it is. I made the Bandersnatchers their own Soundcloud thingy so stuff are a little more organized.

Amarië wrote:- For the love of Yavanna! I can’t sing this! I am rhyming “potatoe” with “alright oh”! It’s a criminal offence! In certain towns, to be exact, not all.
Blue slapped the piece of paper with the back of his hand.
- It was “potatoe” and “all night – oh” before McDodo censored it, mumbled Lance while raising his eyebrows in a significant manner - which nobody saw because of the long hair.
- It was a perfectly fine set of lyrics as it was, Orwell insisted. And “-ight oh” is a perfectly fine rhyme to use. You can never go wrong with that!
- I can do much better than that, I could write some proper poetry.
- I have read some of your ‘poetry’. Ode to law of hights of fences and hedgerows in and around town centres, was it?
Blue glared.
- I will have you know that it is a fine law indeed, most worthy of praise and contemplation! The only reason you write the lyrics is that Odo is your great uncle’s cousin twice removed and by second marriage. So hah!
I'm not sure how well it works, but I like the idea.
Anyway, here it is. I made the Bandersnatchers their own Soundcloud thingy so stuff are a little more organized.

Re: The Bandersnatchers - Live
Just to say it. While I would love another part of this story, I in no way mean to nag. I know I've given it a lot of attention, but the ting is, while every story might need great fan art (courtesy of norc), there's not that many stories that need fan music.
So focusing a bit on it seems natural.
Also it's great. Just to have said that too.

Re: The Bandersnatchers - Live
I can clearly see this setting off some serious Bandersnatch-o-mania all over the Sire! Which is good, I had planned to focus on the fangirls in the next bit.

The Bandersnatchers - live (part 5)
(short one, just to get things started again. Also a shoutout to a certain J. Beaver, hope your tummy feels better now!)
Start from the beginning
Part 4
Nora, Dora and Tora were lovely girls, hardworking and kind. But their screams were ear-piercing like nothing Melody could imagine. Aunt Melody had always believed that one should never forget what it was like being young. Even babysitting her younger brothers Norco, Torco and Dorco had never been as noisy as this. The only part of her youth she could recall being anything like this was the time when the little piglets had gotten red burns from been in the sun too long and wouldn't stop squealing.
They had made a nice little camp outside the walls surrounding the Bandersnatchers' house. Moving past the area and finding somewhere more quiet had been out of the question. Despite Melody's fully packed food baskets, the girls could barely eat. And they would certainly not sleep while there was light in the house and every movement behind curtains or elsewhere sent a wave of screaming through the crowd. Eventually they all drifted off to sleep. The sun rose much too soon and with the first rays of light came a long trail of people with Odo McDodo in the lead. They brought wheel barrels and carts, stacked full of things and clearly heavy, making their way into the house of the Bandersnatchers. Any attempt to get a closer look was quickly stopped by the McOdo safety team. The sorrow of almost being nearly close enough to get a minuscule chance of possibly having the hopes of getting past the wall was devastating for so many. The crying and sobbing rose towards the house, names where called so summon their beloved to a window. Just for a glimpse.
Several hours later the carts and people left, clearly carrying lighter weight but still covered up and giving no indication to what had been brought in. The fans flocked to the opening of the wall, like river water to the mill wheel, but there was no getting through. The choir of wailing and sobbing towards the house kept going.
But the Bandersnatchers had left the building.
