The Bandersnatchers - Live
They were the hottest thing since fire, the coolest thing since the Bradywine froze and more dangerous – according to some – than wild warges. And Nora had tickets. Tickets!!
The high pitched squeal that sounded through the calm evening was absolutely bone piercing. The pigs in the sty raised their heads in horror to see if perhaps one of their piglets had come to grave harm. Dogs on the nearby farms howled and got told off by their owners. The inhabitants of the valley of Hobbitroms were almost getting used to the sound now. And it is a good thing they were, because today the noise reached a whole new level as Nora flashed the tickets in the faces of her cousins Dora and Tora.
They were going to see the Bandersnatchers, live, in Northlandshire.
Nora's father sat at home by the warm fire, trying to focus his thoughts on the book he was writing regarding herbs and their influence on your bowls and faeces. It was a passion he had shared with his daughter since she wore diapers, but today he sat there alone. Nora's mother could tell that his mind was far from the colour or texture of crap. She gave him a comforting pat on the shoulder, sharing his concern. The wise mayor of Tromshire had banned all dancing and music which was not made to make you feel calm and relaxed. And these young men and their music and (Eru have mercy) the posters they hung up everywhere had hobbitlasses and some lads wriggling and shouting all over the Shire.

Whaat?
Well I'm flattered, though I think I'll keep my lawyer on speed dial just in case.
If I am to appear could I ask for Ray Ban sunglasses and a beret (alpelue)? Oh, and a Beatles haircut. I don't want to appear inconspicuous.

Re: The Bandersnatchers - Live
It's great to see a new writing project from you, Amarie! I'm glad you got bitten by a cooperative plot bunny (is that how that metaphor works?).
Re: The Bandersnatchers - Live
Well, as far as I'm concerned, you're a typical Fjordian woman of indeterminate age, Amarie! Where's the next instalment Amarie? Enough of you're infernal teasing! I mean, I wouldn't like to cause friction - or trouble of any sort - but I mean to say, Mrs Figg started hers after you but is already planning (presumably) instalment three of her tale. But as I said, I hope I don't begin a bitch fight - as that kind of hair pulling and scratching and wrestling on the ground - between two women - is really quite objectionable....

Re: The Bandersnatchers - Live
The tickets had not been easy to get. Despite his doubts, Norco couldn’t find it in his heart to disappoint his daughter. Working together with his brothers Dorco and Torco, they had at last found a shady looking ranger who had tickets for sale. Transport had been organized and the girls would stay with aunt Melody. There had been talk about a whole hill being cleared and fenced in for the event. A wide podium had been erected and workers from near and far had worked for days to complete it. Yes, Norco was worried about sending the girls so far away just to dance. But she was growing up and had shown she was diligent about her work on the farm and she helped her mother to cook and clean.
So who are the Bandersnatchers, you ask. It sounds like something out of a Wholesome Tale?
And yes, indeed it does.
This was, of course, an idea that came out of Bree. And their manager is no other than Odo McDodo.
The Bandersnatchers are a group of five young men, handpicked for the job.
Blue Bellowsblower is the lead singer. A sandyhaired young man with blue eyes, strong arms and a most stunning falsetto.
Lance Tatertosser writes the music and there’s hardly an instrument around he doesn’t master. He usually hides his eyes under his long locks of lush brown hair, thus creating an aura of mystery around himself. He works closely with Orwell Ozman, who creates the lyrics.
Ty McPetty plays the drums. He is banned from singing due to his unfortunate Scothobbit dialect scaring people and livestock, but weighs it up by tuning in with soulful o’s and ah’s and throwing his shirt away half way through to performance.
And last but no least there’s Ringo Builtwell. Handy with a flute, as dark in hair and voice as Blue is light, and a shirt so tight it looks like it’s painted on. (Which it is.)
Oh they are a perfect match and they sing (and ooooo’s) like you wouldn’t believe. Fans adore then, parents fear then, money flows in and Odo is hoppingly happy. There is only one problem. They don’t get along at all.

gold. right there.

I'll second that. That part had me literally laughing out loud.Norc wrote:gold. right there. And last but no least there’s Ringo Builtwell. Handy with a flute, as dark in hair and voice as Blue is light, and a shirt so tight it looks like it’s painted on. (Which it is.)
Though I'm a bit unsure how much of a double meaning one should read into that.
(Taking into account Ringos previous apperances in your fanfiction work.)
I see I'm the George Harrison character. Well hopefully I'll get around to writing some songs eventually.

Re: The Bandersnatchers - Live
I have! At least a good deal of it.
And I really rather liked it. I could see that you guys had a lot of fun writing (and drawing ) that. That really shines through in the story.
I did however feel a sudden need to get to the gym, if I'm ever to live up to Ringos example that is.

You do seem to like these descriptions of Ringo, Norc. I hope you don't see Ringo just for for his taught and buffed military body and (from what I've read) incredibly shapely thighs! I mean, he has got a brain too, you know (apparently).Norc wrote:gold. right there. And last but no least there’s Ringo Builtwell. Too true, oh wise Petty. When I'm on the plonk I look a million dollars - if somewhat blurred in the mirror. As no doubt you can verify, it's best to stay plonked, of course.Pettytyrant101 wrote:You'll just have to go read my stuff Blue- all it will make you do is want buckie- no fitness required at all

Re: The Bandersnatchers - Live
Hopefully the Bandersnatchers will turn out to be more like the Beatles, but with this nefarious Odo McDodo lurking in the background I worry they might be more along the lines of One Direction.
