Orwell masters technology  cheers  (eventually! Been a bit like watching a sheep trying to master flying an airplane!  Very Happy )

CONFESSIONS OF ORWELL

I deleted a few posts of various songs awhile back. So if you are new to this Thread and wonder what folk are talking about certain songs that don't appear to exist - well, they don't exist here anymore, but you can still find them on You Tube under Glenn Maillard.

Why did I remove them? Err... it's due to a bout of artistic insecurity I had and I removed them -- which is the poet's right as I see it.  Embarassed

I really like 'reconciliation', but I shudder to think what Martha thinks of Mary.

Wisey has come along with a lovely bit of channeling called "What a Great Ginger Pussy, Mrs Figg." Wisey is quite fond of cats, you know. I've put a tune to it - but I fear there may be some here - disrespectable sorts - who might - because of their febrile despicable minds - draw the wrong conclusions about it. Should I record and post it, Mrs Figg --- or should I not?  Shrugging

{{{I'm sure you'd find nothing vulgar about it -- but others - you know - some of the more horrid beastly Forumshirans... It's quite an innocent song, of course. I mean Wisey even mentions that most innocent of entertainments - the Eel Wranglers Ball in it... so, of course, it is nothing but Family Friendly... Shrugging }}}

{{{I could PM the words first, Mrs Figg?  pale }}}

Good news. Mrs Figg could not see how anyone could possibly see Wisey and my song as anything but an innocent approval for big Ginger Pussies, and not even the most evil minded Forumshiran (even a Scotshobbit) could possibly interpret any of it innuendoley. So I'll get on to it tomorrow... I believe we should celebrate big Ginger Pussies whether up the North or Downunder. Especially magnificent pussies like Mrs Figg's. I think she calls it Felicity.  Very Happy

Shocked Maybe I misunderstood the sub text of the question... Do you mean --- do I laze about all day with plenty of time to write stuff and record stuff, Norc?   scratch If so --- no more than anyone else who has a full time job, I guess. I don't muck about and sweat over trying to write great works of art -- I write what comes, then edit what comes, and if I like it - at least in relation to songs - I play them straight onto my mobile phone. I guess I'm quite disciplined in a way - though I may not seem very disciplined.

{{{Reminds me of that old story of clowns being the most serious folk --- and the best clowns are the best prepared!}}}

{{{Note to self: Be careful what jokes you make about young women in future! Old farts like Mrs Figg and Amarie and Azriel seem safer territory! Shocked}}}

Norc wrote:i just meant fooling around making silly songs is just the thing i do when i am very bored and have lots of time on my hands Razz

I guess I treat everything I do seriously and I make time. (6am in the morning is a good time to find mind space - or when my Missus ducks out to get the milk for twenty minutes). It's actually harder to be genuinely funny than it is to write the successful poetic/artistic/serious, I reckon. But I try to turn my effort to 'going with the flow' with either the serious or the amusing -- even though both often merge and become  the same thing. My song 'The Dolly' was meant to be a cynical joke about people caring more about (superficial) beauty than their own health - but then it became a sad reflection on human beings and the wish to not only feel beautiful but realize that life itself is a beautiful thing if we only recognize it.  My sister-in-law died from cancer a couple of years after I wrote the song. She loved make up but I know that she used it as a way of making herself feel good about herself - and creative - it was not stuff she painted on to solicit attention as such or fool people - it was about her expressing her inner beauty. I'm not sure how good the song is - but it means a lot to me. Anyway - I must get back to my new song with Wisey. What he's got so far - and it's a channelling in progress - is:

A Skattykatzenberg boy
Hello sailor – ahoy!
Such succulent thighs
Make a grown hobbit sigh
As he walks by - curiously by.

Ringo son of Homo --- Herring
Herring – Herring – Herring

A Fisk fishing lad
You don’t look half bad
With your Nordic fringe
The grown hobbits sing
Zing-a-ding ding
zing-a-ding-ding.

Ringo son of Homo --- Herring
Herring – Herring – Herring....

I wish I could just channel and not have to make things up. Wisey has the Gift! Luckilly for him, he doesn't care what he writes --- I do labour at times for all my free-and-easy talk... (Same with Ol'Anon too, come to think, the lucky lucky bastard!)
