Forumshire passes 100,000 posts

As some of you may have noticed, we have been getting closer and closer to the six-digit mark over the past weeks and months. Today I'm very happy and proud to note that, as of about half an hour ago, our 100,000th post was made! Because of deleted posts, the message with the ID of "100000" was actually made yesterday, by Dave >link<, but the one that took us to the 100K was made by Mrs Figg >link<. Clearly those Bree-landers are on to something.

I've been looking forward to this milestone for a long time. Our post total has been in the five digit range since July 2011. We have now made almost six times as many posts as we had on the Old Forum. I noted a couple months ago that we are the second-most active Tolkien forum of 2013 so far. We are also one of the youngest, and are (by my best reckoning) the first to reach the 100K mark since 2009 (and only the second or third since 2007). Suffice to say, I never in my wildest dreams imagined that our forum would be as active and successful as it is today, and I think we have a bright future ahead of us.

Thanks all for indulging me with my milestone post, and thanks so much for making Forumshire the awesome community that it is!

You're unlikely to discover this for yourself, so take my word, the forum administrator gets a lot of threats. I found the appropriate response to these situations a long time ago.



NB I see you finally returned to your post after running off with that criminal Lesbo Proudfoot.

Oh Petty my love, the rumours of my death were exaggerated and as for Lesbo - she turned out to be not half the man Orwell is.

NB The fact that we reached 100K posts before 1000 days means that our post-per-day rate is over 100, despite the very slow start we had for the first nine months or so here.

In the early days, I, and I alone*, posted tirelessly to make Forumshire something - and what did I get - exile!

1,000 days here, and Eru knows how many days before at the Old Forum! Such a wonderful community we have here! We've stuck together through thick and thin, some people were lost, several more were found. Some post all the time, some post every once in a while, but in the end we're all a family!!! It has been my honor being your (drunkenly declared) Queen for the past several years!!! A barrel of Rasberry, I think, will suffice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
