I think the reason the bolg picture looks fake is because it's taken in normal light, daylight or something, so it is a behind-the-scenes footage.

Its not just the lighting or the fakiness of the look for me- its the whole design, the red beardy thing, the weaponry, well everything about it- it looks like a toy.

And Thranduils eyebrows look like they might just crawl off at any minute to mate.

The least one can say is that the big Orc is very impressive! As noted in this article, is actually his armor decorated with bones and blood of his victims, beard Bolg is also widely soaked (beard might not be his, but belonged to a dwarf victim of his wrath !?).
Note in passing that the character seems to be in Dol Guldur.
This is what the french translation say,(as far as I can find out,better be correct !)

From info so far it would seem Bolg is indeed in charge of the Dol Guldur Orcs.

they could pluck his eyebrows, but I guess they somehow wanted to keep his manlyness. he does look good with plucked, lighter eyebrows.

I was so looking forward to The Hobbit, waiting,reading,keeping up with reports of when it is to be released, I feel sorely let down because of all these stupid images & PJs creations,that wouldnt look out of place in a Sci-Fi movie. Its like "Red Dwarf" on acid. Wasnt there ANYONE, either on set or off,that could slap PJ & Co & say "WTF are you doing?" This isnt credible.
