Who the hell watches handball? Not that there's anything wrong with handball, it just doesn't have a following.

I asked myself the same question but a bit of Googling reveals that handball means something completely different in Continental Europe than it does in the US (though, apparently, Ireland and Australia have similar versions to us).

Yeah, womens handball is also conveniently one of the few sports in the world where we are actually the best.

As a farmer who's used to working with food regulations it was amazing to me. Even more so that Southern Europeans would pay extra money for the "extra flavour".

Well, the stuff used in bacalao, klippfisk, is actually salted and dried inside. But tørrfisk, which you can see there, too is considered a delicacy in southern Europe and Italy in particular. (Here it's mostly used in lutefisk.)

And here I thought Petty might have been exaggerating with his descriptions of Fjordian cuisine in the Forumshire Faerie Tales. Clearly he did his research though...

Hey, bacalao is one of the best things there is.

I'm really glad traditional food preparation still gets love, but...well...how do you feel about gammelost?
