The lovely David Tennant and Sir Patrick Stewart in a modern-dress version of Hamlet.

http://video.pbs.org/video/1473795626/

Skip to 1:48 for Stewart's excellent "Rank Offense" speech.

:58 is "To Be, or Not To Be"

1:14 is the players. I've always liked that part. Smile

2:59 Patrick Stewart does some great body-acting (whatever-you-call-it) when he is forced to drink the cup of poison [Spoilers! haha] at the end. It's worth seeing if you don't want to actually watch the whole thing.

I love the way Stewart plays the King in his final moments- everything that can possibly go wrong has gone wrong, the resigned, 'fuck it' shrug of the shoulders before he downs the poison is perfect.

It's the first time I've ever seen that before in a production. Generally the drinking of the cup is more forced. Sure, Stewart is at sword-point, but the shrug really does sell the idea that he just doesn't care any more.
I posted both that and the scene in which he discusses the rankness of his sin. I feel that they have a great continuity in this production.

We couldn't do without Norc's eloquent "theatre stuff..." title after all. Razz
