Would film-Thranduil even go and help the men of Laketown? He's so isolationist and apathetic to the needs of others I would say no. But then again, they aren't dwarves, so maybe he will.

Its the cheap way they write characters Tin- they take one facet of a character- throw out all the rest and exaggerate the one thing to be the dominate personality trait then base ALL the drama regarding that character around that one trait.
Its as cheap and sloppy a way to write as it is disinteresting and unengaging to watch.
