The 2011 Annual Forumshire Awards - Page 5 Empty Re: The 2011 Annual Forumshire Awards

Post by Pettytyrant101 Sun Jan 01, 2012 10:27 pm

Well we come now to the business end of the cremony. The buckie is in full flow. Queen Tinuviel has started dancing with her Best Nose Award on a table, which Beren is holding up with one hand, and Odo and Ringdrotten are planning what to do to Eldo for stealing Most Respected. But the evening moves on and so to does this ceremony, casue Pure Publications would only pay for the rent of the Cabbage Shed till midninght.

Our next award is another biggy of the night. Its holder gets with the title the keys and residency to the Tower of Lore and all its wisdom. Its the Best Lore Award, with Eldo the current holder and long term favourite.
And I ahve here the envelope and the keys to the Tower, who will they be going to tonight?
The winner of Best Lore is......ELTHIR!!!
Its a shock result folks. Eldo has lost out and lost his tower. The new comer on the block, the person with all things Tolkien stored up in their brain is Elthir.
Well, well.

And before we get time to catch or breath from that its on to the Best News Hound Award. Forumshire thrives on news and its brought to us from far and wide by many members, but some distinguish themselves in service to rooting out the titibits and being first with the latest Hobbit info. So who is Forumshires greatest journo?
The Award for Best News Hound goes to......CHRIS!!! A clear and thouroughly deserving winner. We salute you Chris for keeping us all informed.

But whilst gathering news is one thing having somewhere to gather it to is another. Forumshire is blessed with an abundant free press, well except for state news which obviously prides itself on not being free, but which paper do the residents pick up first of a morning? Who is winning the Forumshire circulation war? We find out inside! This envelope, I mean.
The winner of Best Newspaper goes to.......THE DAILY PURIST!!! Well that keeps me in a job and buckie as delivery boy for another year then!!

Forumshire is a close knit community and sometimes our numbers dwindle.
So dim the lights, play sad music, raise a glass with a tear in your eye whilst we remember those whose avatars are now a thing of nostalgic memory only, those residents in the last year who have become Missing, Presumed Bored-

Baingil
Gandalf's Beard
Grey Pilgrim
Hail Manwe
Nagual
Noom

Right get the lights back up and the band playing, thats enough of that!! We still have awards to dish out. And as we mark those who ar eno longer here we tunr now to greet those who have newlty arrived. Its the Best Newcomer Award.
Whilst Fourmshire may not have a stampede of prospective residents beating a path to our round doors, it has an exceptionally high level of quality people doing so, none finer than all those hwo made our nominees list this year. But there can only be one winner in a popularity contest and the winner for Best Newcomer is..........SQUACH!!!!!
Forumshire's favourite cheeky youth representive steals the gold. Despite some misundertandings over how to spell her name!!

But now we turn from the frivolities of youth to an all together more important and serious matter. Indeed the most mportant award of the night and the only one with any real value. Its Most Crabbit.
And the winner is.........PETTY TYRANT!!!
Well I would say I am flattered but I'm not, deserving is what I am so there. Evil or Very Mad

To every yin a yang. To every sane crabbit hobbit an insane happy one (whats wrong with you people!?). Anyway this year it was felt there should be an award for such fools, the Most Fun award. As if people come to Forumshire for fun, ridiculous notion.
The award for Most Fun goes to......ODO!!!

Shocked You see this is why I cant take this award sriously? That moralsiing, opinionated, stuck up priggish oaf Most Fun!? I despair Forumshire I really do. Evil or Very Mad

Well, thats about it for...what? There's another one. You're kidding me? How long does this bloody thing go on for? Fine, but I need a slash, too much buckie. Bung an ad on.
I will be right back ater this short break for the final award of the night. A Special award for 2011. Saviour of Forumshire.
I want overtime for this you know, at least 3 barrrels...

Post by Pettytyrant101 Sun Jan 01, 2012 10:35 pm

Well its the final award of the night. 2011 has been and gone. 2012 with all its uncertainties and probabilty of the world ending is upon us. But not before we give out this last award.
And what a special award it is. Its been less than a year since we found ourselves adrift and homeless, before Forumshire was colonised. And were it not for a few determined, hardy souls with nothing better to do there would be no Forumshire today. This award is in honour of that and of the founding of Forumshire.

The Saviour of Forumshire Award goes to....ELDORION

Mad I don't know, organise some people, create a web site, set it up, beome the admin and run it and what do get rewarded it seems? Its a bloody disgrace! I knew these awards were a fix!

Well folks, that was the 2011 Forumshire Awards. Full of controversy again and a few suprises. So lets raise a glass of buckie to the years that is past, to congratulate the new winners and share the sorrow of the new losers, and to all those who didn't win anything, there is always next year! Illuvator bless! And git it up yi aw!
Goodnight Forumshire until next year. I'm away to get some cream applied to these burns by elven maidens. Nod

Post by Eldorion Sun Jan 01, 2012 10:41 pm

Nobody told me that the Tower of Lore was part of the prize for the Best Lore Award! Mad But a very well-deserved win to Elthir. Let's just hope he ventures out of the Middle-earth-related forums long enough to notice that he's won. Very Happy I'm very flattered to be recognized again by the people of Forumshire, and I shall treasure the Savior of Forumshire Award. (((And maybe Odo will take a hint now, especially since it's been proven that he's more fun than he'll admit Twisted Evil.))) Thank you all! Cool

And of course, congratulations to all of the other winners; you've earned it! We're very grateful that you come here and share the things that you do. It means a lot to everyone and it's what keeps Forumshire going, so enjoy your deserved recognition! But I'd like to offer a thank you to everyone else as well! Sadly there are only so many awards to go around but (and I suppose I'm channeling GB here) I really do value each and every person who posts here and helps make Forumshire what it is. Thank you very, very much. Smile

And finally, thanks to Petty for keeping the Awards going for another year. Events like these wouldn't be the same without you and your buckie. Laughing

The announcement of the winners was spread out over the sixth and seventh pages of this thread by Petty as he was recuperating from his burn wounds. Razz

Also, since you joined after the nominations were announced, I think you'd probably be eligible for the Newcomer Award next year. Very Happy

LOL I did venture out Eldorion, and although I don't deserve this award or lofty tower I shall endeavour to seem like I do, by peppering future posts with words like adjective, lenition, and endeavour.

And I would like to congratulate all the winners, but I am now afraid to spell congratulate incorrectly. I mean, how would it look!

ps love the pic- I like to see a confident contender- see you at next years ceremony Norc!

Talking of red carpet pics anyone else notice Wisey seems to have brought along not only Porgy but an extra arm and a leg and, erm, something extra between his legs? Embarassed (on p6)
Still thats Channelers for you, when you have a book for a forehead whats an extra limb or two for a special occasion?- I begin to see why Porgy stays with the old codger! Wink
