He certainly know the right thing to say.  Laughing

And that clip will be on the cutting room floor somewhere. Something to contemplate..

Where do you ge the term "deaded" from, by the way? I've heard that somewhere before.

Yeah, I just wondered if it was a widely used term somewhere. As it's something the character my username is based on says quite a lot. And that is from a radio program from the late 50's early 60's.

"deaded" is one  of the deductions sherlock makes of a skull while drunk.

Ah, ok. Interesting.  Smile

Maybe it's a slight reference, maybe not.

This was a bit amusing. (Also how the article is written.)

Sherlock writer wanted to dump Benedict Cumberbatch

One of the writers of the hit BBC drama series, “Sherlock”, has revealed how he pitched to have the show’s star, Benedict Cumberbatch, written out.

In a new interview, Steve Thompson said, “I wanted […] to do an entire episode without Benedict in it at all.”

Asked whether there’s anything he wanted to do Sherlock-wise that didn’t make it through the discussion process, Thompson replied in the affirmative. “I wanted to do [an episode about] young Sherlock,” he said. “I wanted him to be nine […] I was just trying to think of a way of surprising everyone.”

Had it been approved, this would have been the episode that would have been completely void of Cumberbatch.

“‘This is the most surprising thing possible: Ben’s not going to be in it!’” I told them. I must’ve been drunk or something. Benedict’s amazing; how could I suggest it?”

Luckily, as Thompson adds, Moffat and Gatiss said, “‘You know what? I think we probably won’t do that.”

No idea, I've just seen the term crop up a lot on the Internet over the past year. Shrugging

Yeah, I got that. Wink

It's quite an iconic thing in Brittain though, so as a popular culture reference it's not all that unlikely.

We would have to ask Stephen Thompson to know, I guess.  Laughing

Ah, on the 28th. I couldn't find the date anywhere when we talked about it last time.

“He will never watch Sherlock and say all the fast cutting and and so on and say we should do that," said Davies. "He will watch that and take the piss out of that.”

Is a bit of a strange comment though. He will never watch it, but he will watch it to parody it? scratch
