I am more interested in his performance than infinitesimal nit picking accent changes which do not detract from his character portrayal.

{{Lucky you. Bugged the crap out of me all the way through however. Granted given the list of crabbit inducing things was spectacularly long it wasn't at the top, but it was there all right Mad }}

{{A what time? scratch Is that like the feeling you get in the middle of a really good fight? Or when you hit the peak sweetspot of the right amount of buckie? If so I can assure you even hitting the sweetspot of buckie does not help reduce the crabbit provoked by PJ's films Mad Believe me I have tried- and my exhaustive research has concluded the films are best enjoyed at x10 the sweetspot amount, as by that time you will have smashed everything in the room to bits including the tv and if lacking company, challenged yourself to a fight and knocked yourself out. Making it the perfect amount for viewing Twisted Evil }}}

Well, you certainly seem to have fun not enjoying the films (does that make sense?)

I wish I could treat TH as a misguided comedy, but I was often left too bored by the films to get annoyed at things...

{{Not so much fun Malick as if I don't find at least find some means to humour in it all then there is only despair at the result}}}

Having fun not enjoying himself is what Petty does best. Its the essence of crabbit. He enjoys being Scottish too. Laughing

Laughing silent

In fairness the English aren't known for being full of good will and cheer either...

So this kept showing up on my youtube page, and I kept ignoring it because who really needs yet another 15 minute video on Tom? But under the pressures of so many other things to do under a time limit my rebel procrastination took hold and I finally clicked on it. What I like about her take is that by digging into the Tolkien biography and letters she concludes that the attempts of so many others to explain Tom within the confines of Middle Earth (maiar, etc) is pointless, and you have to see Tom as Tolkien's external commentary on nature at large rather than a fixture of Middle Earth. I have to say I agree with all she says.

Funny I just watched this on YouTube and came on here to post it. She only posted this a few days ago and already over 90k views. All her other Tolkien stuff as a couple of thousand at best. Tom's a popular guy.
